A youth allegedly killed his elder brother in Manikganj on Monday (April 10) over a family feud.

The deceased was identified as Abu Raihan, 27, son of Shah Jahan Vakum Fakirpara village of Jaimontap union of Singair upazila.

According to family members, Roman, 24, was in a feud with his family, including his two brothers, as they did not accept his marriage and did not allow his wife into the house.

They said that two brothers Abu Raihan and Zaman went to sleep when Roman was sitting next to them. Around 12 o'clock in the night, Roman slaughtered Abu Raihan with a sharp weapon. 

Later, Raihan was rushed to the upazila health complex, where the duty doctor declared him dead.

Roman, however, fled the scene.

The murder occurred due to a family dispute, Singair Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Mizanur Islam suspected.

Police visited the scene after receiving information, he said, adding an effort is on to arrest Roman.
