Faridpur BCL leader removed from post over TikTok video

A local Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader in Faridpur was excused from party post today (April 10).

He was removed for sharing a TikTok video with homemade weapons on his Facebook account.

The accused was identified as Bilal Mridha, 25, vice-president of Boalmari upazila unit BCL and a resident of Daskhin Kamargram area under Boalmari municipality.

A press release was signed by Faridpur BCL President Tamjidul Rashid Chowdhury and General Secretary Md Fahim Ahmed in this regard.

According to the press release, the action was taken against Bilal Mridha in a meeting of Faridpur District BCL.

Billal was relieved from his party post and handed down a show cause notice why he should not be expelled from the party. However, he was asked to reply it within seven days, added the release.

Earlier, Billal posted the TikTok video on his Facebook account around 8:00am yesterday.
