At least five people were killed and another one injured after a bus rammed a CNG run auto-rickshaw in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram on Thursday (April 13) morning.

The accident occurred in Raikhali Bridge area of the upazila around 9am.

Four of the deceased were identified as Md Selim, 45, of Boalkhali’s Mirpara, Anjana Akter, 35, of Mirsarai’s Jorarganj, Abu Foyez, 25, of Ukhia Camp area and Babul Dey, 60, of Patiya’s Baidyabari.

Boalkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak confirmed the matter.

He said there were six passengers in the auto-rickshaw. Four of them died on the spot, while another died on the way to the hospital, he also said.

The injured was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Both the vehicles were seized from the spot, the OC added.
