Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruq said on the occasion of Bengali New Year-1430, no one will be allowed to enter Ramna with bags.

Besides, after finishing all the events, people must vacate the place by 4 pm, he said.

DMP Commissioner said this in response to a question from journalists after inspecting the security arrangements at Ramna on Thursday (April 13) afternoon.

Khandaker Golam Faruq said, every year the Dhaka Metropolitan Police provides security at Ramna Botmul. 

He said Dhaka Metropolitan Police has taken all kinds of security measures so that Bengalis can celebrate this year's Pahela Boishakh in a festive manner. 

Around 2,700 police are working in Ramna, Dhaka University, TSC, Rabindra Sarobar, and Jagannath University, DMP Commissioner added.
