Two persons were killed and six others injured as two buses collided head-on at Patiya upazila in Cox's Bazar on Friday (April 21) morning. 

The accident took place in Shantirhat area on Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway around 9.20am.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Hamid, 32, and Shahid 28. 

According to locals, a Chattogram-bound bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' from Cox's Bazar collided head-on with another bus of 'Nabil Paribahan', leaving eight people injured. 

The injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where doctors declared two dead. 

CMCH police outpost sub-inspector Nurul Alam Ashek confirmed the matter.
