5 killed in Comilla, Gazipur

DHAKA: Five people were killed in separate road crashes in two districts on Wednesday morning.

Among the deceased, four were identified as Abul Khayer, 46, of Magura and   Fakhrul Islam, 42, of Jessore, Mohin, 42 and Nasir, 40.

Our Staff Correspondent in Gazipur reports:

Two staffs of Nestle were run over by truck in Rajendrapur area under Sadar upazila at around 8:30am.

Witnesses said a Banglabazar-bound truck hit a motorcycle carrying the two persons in Haldoba area on Rajendrapur –Kapasia road, leaving two dead on the spot.
 
Hotapara outpost assistant sub-inspector Md Tiaz confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Our Comilla correspondent reports:

At least three people were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Madhaiya-Nawatola area of Chandina of the district at around 4:30am.

Sources said that a pickup van collided head-on with a lorry in the area, leaving three dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter, Highway police outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector Harun Ahamed told banglanews, “Police recovered the bodies and seized the vehicles.”
