Bangladeshi shot by BSF dies in Panchagarh

A Bangladeshi stone worker, who was shot by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Butirpukur border at Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh yesterday, succumbed to his injuries today (May 22).

Deceased Polash, 35, son of Abdur Rahman, hailed from Bogulahogi village in the upazila.

The died while undergoing treatment in Rangpur Medical College Hospital around 8:30 am.

Former UP member Rafiqul Islam, the deceased's uncle, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Earlier, Polash along with others were collecting stones from the River in the village at about 2.00pm. A patrol team of BSF opened fire at the stone workers at that time, leaving Polash critically injured.
