Six students of Dighapatia PN High School in Natore has been allegedly expelled for drinking liquor in school.

The headmaster of the school, Abdul Alim, confirmed the matter on Tuesday (May 23) evening.

He said yesterday the alleged students were sitting on the unused stairs of the third floor of the new building during school hours. On receiving information, the teachers caught them red-handed. As there is no managing committee, they were given TC by the collective decision of the teachers.

When the head of the school reported the matter to Natore Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sarmina Sattar, she suggested that the students be taken back to class for the time being, he said.

UNO Sarmina said to Banglanews that further action will be taken after a proper investigation.
