DHAKA: Journalists on Monday protested the remand order of one reporter and camera person of a private TV channel RTV and demanded their immediate release.

Journalists and camera persons from various private television channels observed a token work abstention programme at in front of Jatiya Press Club on Monday.

In the protest demo, journalists demanded immediate release of the two staff of RTV and said otherwise they would go for tougher programme later.

Earlier, law enforcers arrested private television channel RTV staff reporter Tamzid Roni and camera person Prosanta Modak on Sunday morning on charge of instigating of cocktail blats at Kamrangirchar.

Later, they were produced before metropolitan magistrate court with 10-day remand plea.

Magistrate, Tareque Moinul Islam Bhuiyan granted their four-day remand in the same day.
