The District Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in a raid arrested a man with 15 gold bars weighing 150 'tolas' worth about Taka 1.27 crore from Kamarpara Dhaka Bus Stand in the city today.

The detainee was identified as Foysal Hossain, 38, son of late Abul Hossain of village Deobhog Mridhabari in Munshiganj Sadar upazila.

Additional Director of District DNC and its Divisional Deputy Director (In-charge) Md. Ali Aslam confirmed the matter.

He said acting on a tip off, a special DNC team searched a night coach after its arrival there from Dhaka and arrested the man with the gold bars at 8:45 am.

"Later, we handed over the arrested person with the seized gold bars to Kotwali police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police for taking further legal actions against him," he said.
