DHAKA: BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance Thursday announced another spell of 72-hour countrywide road, rail and waterways blockade from 6:00am Saturday protesting polls schedule and arrest of its leaders.

Salahuddin Ahmed, spokesman of BNP, made the announcement through a video message sent from unknown place.

The 131-hour nationwide blockade is underway for sixth consecutive day on Thursday amid continuation of disruption rail services in several districts.
    
At least 22 people were killed and scores injured during the first spell of blockade from November 26-28.
