Offices, including banks and financial institutions, reopened today (July 2) as the four-day public holiday on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha ended.
The offices remained closed from June 27 to July 1 on the occasion of Eid and weekly holidays.
But the presence of the officials and employees was seen comparatively lower in city’s secretariat and Motijheel bank streets. The first working day was spent amid exchange of Eid greetings at government offices, including the Secretariat.
On the other hand, head offices of bank and insurance in city’s Motijheel area opened with a lower presence.
However, presence of clients was lower in the banks.
According to the bank officials, full-swing office activities may start next week.
According to sources, 74,45,523 people left Dhaka for their ancestral homes in three days preceding Eid-ul-Azha.
Service-holders and businessmen, celebrating Eid at their village homes, started returning to Dhaka and other places of occupation from June 30.
