Outlaw arrested in Kushtia

KUSHTIA: Police arrested an operative of the outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (ML Jonojuddha group) from Mirpur upazila in the district on Friday night.

The arrest person was identified as Enamul Islam, a suspected ‘killer’ in the banned communist outfit.

Mirpur thana OC Mehedi Hossain said on information that Enamul was in a secret meeting with his cohorts, police raided the ground of Nimtoli Madrasa at around 11 pm and arrested him. His associates managed to flee the scene.

Police claimed Enamul, wanted in 12 cases, including six for murder, was organising his group “to create anarchy”.

As per his statement, police later recovered one LG, four bombs and bullet from in front a house at Radhanagar village.
