DHAKA: Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman HM Ershad on Saturday said he will lead the party as Chairman until death.

“Some media are publishing that I am going to retirement but I am the chairman of the party as long as I am alive,” he said.   

The former President made the assertion while talking to journalists at his residence ‘President Park’ at Baridhara in the city.

Regarding Rowshan Ershad, he said, “I do not make her vice-chairman of the party.”

Ershad said, “I am the chairman of Jatiya Party and will lead the party until death and why should I prefer anyone else.”

He urged journalists to avoid such rumors intending to confuse the people.

While talking about next election he said, “We are not taking part in the upcoming polls.”
