Bablu, Anis submit resignations

DHAKA: At last two Jatiya Party leaders Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud and advisor to Prime Minister Ziauddin Bablu submitted their resignation letters to party Chairman HM Ershad on Sunday.

Joint Secretary General of the party Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan made the disclosure while talking to journalists at HM Ershad’s Banani house in the noon.

They were the last two representatives in the polls-time interim government from the party to submit the resignation letters. Earlier, presidium member of the party Rowshan Ershad did the same.

Another presidium member of the party GM Quader said the cabinet members of JP are resigning with a view to experiencing exclusive election.

Besides, commerce minister also senior presidium member of Jatiya Party GM Qauder categorically said the resignation papers of ministers from Jatiya Party would be sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by Sunday.

He made the disclosure after emerging from the meeting with a four-member UN team led-by Oscar Fernández Taranco, assistant secretary general for political affairs of United Nations.

GM Quader also said that the party is going to withdraw its members from interim cabinet by Sunday. Jatiya Party will join the cabinet again if all parties representing in Jatiya Sanshad join the cabinet and upcoming elections.
