Light to moderate rain likely: Met office

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur across the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today (July 27).

According to the Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at many places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country. 

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The Well-marked low over West central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay off North Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coast now lies over South Odisha and adjoining North Andhra Pradesh.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, the center of the Well-marked low to Assam across Gangetic West Bengal and central part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 36.5 degree Celsius at Chuadanga and minimum temperature today was recorded by 24.6 degree Celsius at Bandarban.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four till 6am today was recorded by 41 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.

Rainfall intensity may increase, the met office release said.

The sun sets at 6:44 pm today and rises at 5.25 am tomorrow in the capital.
