A Narayanganj leader collapsed with heart attack during BNP's grand rally in Nayapaltan on Friday (July 28) noon.

The deceased Md Mahmudur Rahman, 62, was member of the convening committee of Narayanganj district unit of BNP.  

BNP men who also joined the rally said, Mahmudur suddenly fell sick at the Nayapaltan rally around 12:30 pm.

Later, he was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him dead around 1:20 pm, they said.

Metropolitan BNP convener Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan and member secretary Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu have expressed deep grief over Mahmudur's death.
