Member of police allegedly committed suicide after firing on his throat in Panchagarh on Friday (August 4).

The deceased identified as Feroz Ahmed, was a police constable. 

He committed suicide while he was on duty at Sonali Bank Panchagarh branch at 2 am.

On July 31, Firoz got the duty of guard at Sonali Bank in Panchagarh city. At that time he tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the throat with his rifle while performing his duties, according to police source.

Panchagarh Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Kanak Kumar Das confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

The incident may have happened due to a family dispute, the police will provide further details after investigating the matter.
