DHAKA: Brigadier General Syed Iftekhar Uddin was made new Inspector General of Police (Prison) just after one week of appoint of the incumbent IGP.

Public Administration Ministry made the disclosure in an order on Wednesday.

Earlier, Syed Iftekhar Uddin was director of central medical store department under health and family planning ministry.

He will perform his duty in deputation instead of incumbent IGP Mayeen Uddin.

On December 5, the government had appointed additional secretary Mayeen Uddin as IGP (Prison).
