Satkhira Police Super Withdrawn

SATKHIRA: The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Satkhira district Mollah Jahangir Hossain was closed to the police Headquarters on Thursday for allegedly failure to maintain law-and-order situation of the district.

Additional Inspector General of Police (Media) of the Headquarters Jalal Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Khulna Zone M Moniruzzaman said through a fax-order, the Headquarters of police sent his withdrawal order and requested him to report in by Thursday.

However, around 14 leaders and activists were killed in the district in last five months.

But the accused criminals were not arrested during this time as police did not take proper steps, Moniruzzaman added.

Meanwhile, the police super handed over the charge to the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of the district Joydeb Chowdhury.
