An earthquake of 4.6 magnitudes on the Richter scale jolted Sylhet on Tuesday (August 29) morning.

The earthquake was felt at 1.13 pm.

The epicentre of the quake is neighboring areas of Sylhet. But the origin and extent have not yet been determined.

Fortunately, no casualties or damage to properties have been reported.

Sylhet Meteorological Department Assistant Meteorologist Shah Md. Sajib Hossain confirmed the matter.
