CHANDPUR: Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said the hearing on the case of the Bay of Bengal maritime boundary dispute between Bangladesh and India will be issued next year.
The Foreign Minister made the disclosure while talking with journalists at her Chandpur residence on Sunday.
She said, “We will overcome in the arbitration through upcoming hearing and a hearing will be held on December of this year between the two parties as India submitted their written arguments.”
Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) of The Hague will begin hearing on the delimitation of the maritime boundary between Bangladesh and India in December this year.
On July 31, India, in the second phase of arguments, submitted its written papers on behalf of their demand to PCA in Hague of Netherland.
Before this, Bangladesh also submitted written arguments along with necessary documents to the court in two phases.
Earlier in 2011, Bangladesh placed the demand of maritime boundary. Later India also came up with the matter in 2012.
Bangladesh instituted arbitral proceedings in the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) on October 08, 2009 after making all-out attempts to solve the issue bilaterally.
