US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas inaugurated the new location of American Corner in Rajshahi on Monday (September 18).

According to US embassy to Dhaka this initiative is a joint effort between the US Embassy and Varendra University that aims to advance knowledge exchange, promote people to people ties, and strengthen the ties between the United States and Bangladesh.

US exchange alumni, government officials, educators, students, and members of the local community gathered to witness the unveiling of this vibrant center for learning and exploration, said US embassy.

The American Corner is designed to be a hub of intellectual engagement, providing access to a wide range of resources, including books, digital materials, multimedia content, and online databases.  

It serves as a space where students, researchers, and enthusiasts can gather to expand their horizons, engage in discussions, and collaborate on projects that contribute to educational and social development.

The American Corner also hosts a variety of programs, workshops, and events focused on areas such as English language learning, entrepreneurship, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and American literature and history.  

These activities not only enhance participants' skills but also foster a deeper appreciation for the diversity of thought and ideas.

As the American Corner in Rajshahi embarks on its journey, it is poised to become a vital resource for individuals seeking to broaden their horizons and make meaningful contributions to society, the embassy said.
