A fire broke out in a shop in the capital's Lalbagh area on Monday (September 25). 

The fire broke out around 1:30 pm at ‘Madina Mistanno Bhandar, fire service control room official Rashid bin Khaled said.

On information, nine firefighting units rushed to the spot and are trying to douse the blaze, he added.

He also said that a total of nine units of fire service are working at the spot to control the fire. 

The origin of the fire and the extent of damage could not be known immediately.

No casualties were reported.
