NATORE: Police arrested eight members of Jamaat-e-Islami in a drive in the district Wednesday.

The arrested include former district secretary Abdul Awal and City unit’s chief Sadekur Rahman.

Earlier on Tuesday, Jamaat top brass Matiur Rahman Nizami, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and Delwar Hossain Sayedee.

Assistant police super Apel Mahmood told banglanews24.com.bd that the drive began at around 1 and continued till 4am at different parts of the district.

“The drive was aimed at avoiding any untoward situation following the arrest of top Jamaat leaders,” Mahmood said.
