Govt increases retirement benefits

DHAKA: The government increased gratuity and other retirement benefits for public service holders.

The finance ministry issued a gazette notification regarding the fresh remuneration matter on Monday.

It would be effective from December 1, this year.

According to the gazette, some 50 percent amount of the capitulated money in the time of the government service will be provided against gross pension for every Tk 1.

The government will now give Tk 260 for every Tk 1 from the surrendered amount this applies to those who have been in service for 10 to 15 years. The amount before was Tk 230 for each surrendered Tk 1.

For those who have been in service for 15 to 20 years, Tk 245 will be given for every surrendered Tk 1 in the time of job instead of the previous Tk 215.

And for the service holders who have served for more than 20 years, the new amount would be Tk 230, which was Tk 200 earlier.
