Remand sought for 37 foreigners among 43

DHAKA: Police sought seven days remand of 43 people including 37 foreign nationals.

Uttara West Thana Sub-Inspector Mamunur Rahman filed the remand plea to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday noon.

The hearing on the petition is likely to hold at the court of Magistrate Rezaul Karim in afternoon.

Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel detained 36 foreign nationals with huge amount of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) equipments on Sunday night.

All foreign citizens from different countries were arrested from Capital’s Uttara around 9:15pm.

Amongst the detainees, 32 are Taiwan nationals, five Chinese and six Bangladeshis.
