DHAKA: US ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena on Tuesday said USA doesn’t expect any anarchy, violence and political gridlock in Bangladesh ahead of the upcoming 10th national polls.

The US diplomat made the disclosure while talking to journalists after a meeting with communication minister Obaidul Quader Chowdhury on bilateral and ongoing political issues on Tuesday in city’s bridge division office around 2:00pm.

He told reporters: “It is the crucial time for Bangladesh as count-down has began for the upcoming national polls and US want a fruitful resolution by dialogues between the parties for a transparent and nonbiased polls instead of violence.”

He said, “As a close mate of the country we want the ongoing political gridlock to ease dawn domestically.”

Answering the question on enhancing dialogue initiatives, Mozena also said it is possible to resolve the prevailing political crisis if both ruling and opposition sit together.

While talking about the meeting, Obaidul Quader said, “We discussed on bilateral issues also recent political condition in the country ahead of the 10th general polls.”
