Bangladeshi youth Hossain Mohammad Sagar, correspondent of Banglanews24, Bangladesh's largest online news portal, delivered a presentation at the 'New Generation Program' in Moscow, the capital of Russia.
His presentation focused on how the program can be held efficiently in days to come.
Shafiqul Islam, correspondent of United News of Bangladesh (UNB), Sharaban Tohura Jeneia, journalist of Channel 24, Rajeev Harinarayan, PhD researcher in Indian history, Chinese museum researcher Lin Zhao, and Serbian teacher representative Jovana Stokic including others participated in the presentation along with Sagar as his group members.
Sagor and his team during the presentation highlighted some points for the future program which stressed on extending program duration, joining more participants, to include more programs, visiting Moscow as well as various other cities in Russia, learning about Russian culture and history, increasing opportunities for interaction with Russian officials, opportunity to exchange views with young Russian leaders, various programs to get acquainted with Russian culture, and highlighted various issues including meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Sagor also talked about Bangladesh’s agricultural sector, climate issues and current media situation.
He said, “Agriculture is the main livelihood of the people of our country. But due to the effect of climate change, various problems have arisen in the agricultural sector. We are taking various initiatives to address these issues.”
“Journalism in Bangladesh is progressing gradually. The media sector has improved a lot since independence. At present Bangladeshi journalists are shining their name in the world court in different ways,” he said.
The “New Generation” program is a unique Russian youth program held annually by Rossotrudnichestvo since 2011. It seeks to create conditions for sustainable dialogue between young professionals from Russia and other countries. During the last eight years, more than 6,000 young professionals from more than 130 countries of the world visited Russia. Among them were representatives of political and public organizations, science, culture, and media.
