SATKHIRA: A court here on Wednesday convicted and sentenced a man and his two sons to life term imprisonment in a murder case.

The Additional session Judge Court also fined the lifers Tk 10,000 each, in default, to serve three months more in jail.

The lifers are Abdul Khaleq Gazi and his two sons Ujjal Hossain Gazi and Afzal Hossain Gazi, of Alipur village in Sadar upazila.

According to the prosecution, Hasina Begum, wife of Ruhul Amin of Alipur Majherpara village in the same upazila was killed on August 18, 2007 over a land dispute.

Later, the victim’s brother filed a case with Sadar thana in this connection. After investigation, IO of the case SI Rafiqul Islam submitted the charge sheet against the trio.

After examining the records and witnesses, Judge Sharifuddin Azad handed down the judgment in a crowded court.
