Intelligence team members of Dhaka Customs House arrested a woman along with 8.217kg gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday (December 20).

The arrestee was identified as Rekha Parvin.

Assistant Director of Airport Customs and Intelligence Department Farhana Begum confirmed the matter this morning.

She said tipped off, members of intelligence team arrested Rekha along with 69 gold bars, 6 gold bangles and one gold chain.

The estimated market value of the recovered gold is Tk 6.58 crore, she said.

A case has been registered after handing over the passenger to the airport police station, the official added.
