India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his counterpart Sheikh Hasina for the victory of Awami League in the 12th parliamentary election.
Modi greeted through a post on his X account at around 7pm on Monday (January 8) as the ruling Awami League is going to form the government for the fourth consecutive term.
He said, “I spoke to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I congratulate her for her historic victory in the parliamentary elections for the fourth time in a row. I also congratulate the people of Bangladesh for the successful conduct of the elections. We are committed to further strengthen our enduring and people-centric partnership with Bangladesh.”
Earlier, India’s West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has congratulated Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the victory of Awami League in the 12th parliamentary election.
