Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (January 29) said that mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the districts of Moulvibazar, Cumilla, Feni, Jashore, Chuadanga, Barishal and Bhola and it may abate from some places.
According to the Met office latest bulletin, weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, said met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.
Moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins and light to moderate fog elsewhere over the country during midnight to morning. Inland river transport may disrupt temporarily due to thick fog.
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 28.0 degree celsius at Sitakunda and minimum temperature today was recorded 05.7 degree celsius at Dinajpur.
Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining Northwestern part of Bangladesh. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.
Night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
