The government has extended the deadline for Hajj registration till 6 February as the quota of pilgrims has remained unfulfilled.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a fresh notification in this regard on Friday (February 2).
Earlier, the deadline was extended in phases until 1 February.
According to the notification, the registration timeframe for the intending pilgrims under government and private management has been extended till 6 February for the last time under special consideration.
Those who want to perform Hajj can do primary registration by depositing Tk2.05 lakh or final registration by paying the full amount of the package within the fresh deadline.
In the case of the primary registration, the intending pilgrims must deposit the rest of the package amount by 29 February for final registration, otherwise they would not be able to perform Hajj and the deposited money would not be returned, it said.
The Hajj will be held on 16 June, subject to the sighting of the moon.
A total of 1,27,198 Bangladeshis can perform Hajj this year. Of them, 10,198 will be able to perform Hajj under government management while the rest under private management.
So far, 79,862 people have registered to go for Hajj. Out of this, 4,165 people made their registrations under government management and 75,697 people under private management.
