MOULVIBAZAR: Miscreants chopped assistant presiding officer in Borokala Bazar area under Borolekha upazila of the district on Saturday night.

The injured was identified as Selim Uddin, 48.

Local sources said a gang of 7/8 miscreants intercepted Selim Uddin on his way to Dakkhin Bazar School to perform his vote-duty and chopped him indiscriminately at around 9:00pm.

Later, locals rushed him to Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-Charge of Borolekha Thana Abul Hashem confirmed the matter to banglanews.
