SIRAJGANJ: A businessman was strangulated to death at Bangala union in Ullapara upazila Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Shahadat Hossain, 55, an oil and fertilizer trader of Kuichamara Bazar.

He hailed from neihbouring Chawk-Mehadipur village.

Bangala Union Parishad chairman Abu Bakkar Siddique told banglanews24.com.bd that unknown assailants killed Sahadat on his way home at around 10pm Thursday and dumped his body near the market.

Ullapara thana officer-in-charge Tajul Huda said Shahadat might have killed by his opponents over business dealings.
