DHAKA:  Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said those who are siding with the war criminals are standing against humanity and the state.

The foreign minister made the oblique observation while talking to newsmen after distributing cheques of grants to the distressed in Chandpur Friday.

“War crime is hateful and crime against humanity,” Dr. Dipu Moni said. She reminded that the trial of this sort of crime was held across the world and initiative has been taken to do that in Bangladesh too.

She deplored that a certain quarter inside the country is conspiring to protect the war criminals when people across the world are taking sides with humanity.

“Those who collaborated with the occupation Pakistani forces during the liberation war are now trying to save the war criminals,” the foreign minister said in a swinging criticism, adding that the countrymen should build resistance against them.

The function was presided over by deputy commissioner of             Chandpur Priotosh Saha.

Earlier, Dr. Dipu Moni also attended the 10th founding anniversary of daily Chandpur Probaha as the chief guest. With Dhaka City Awami League General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya in the chair, the main discussant in the function was former general secretary of the national press club Shafiqur Rahman.

The FM also attended a women’s gathering of Haimchar as the chief guest.
