DHAKA: At 20 people were injured in a clash between Chhatra League activists and employees of Pikok Bar in capital’s Shahbagh area early Thursday.

Sources said that the bar was going to be closed at around 10:30pm as usual. But some 10 to 12 activists led-by Chhatra League president Mehedi of Dhaka University’s SM Hall tried to enter into the bar at around 12:00am.

Later, security men protested them but Chhatra League activists entered into the bar and ransacked.

On information, over two hundred activists of Chhatra League from Dhaka University rushed to the spot with sticks and Pepsi bottle and locked into clash, leaving 20 people injured.

Later, Shahbagh and Ramna Thana police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Ramna Thana Sub-Inspector Hasan Mahmud confirmed the matter to banglanews.
