CHITTAGONG: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel along with additional police forces were deployed on Chittagong University campus a day after killing a student in deadly spar between Chhatra League and Shibir.

Assistant Proctor of the university Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews on Monday.

He said, “BGB were deployed along with RAB and police in a bid to avert further clash and continuing regular academic activities of the university.”

Wearisome condition has been continuing over the campus after a fierce clash took place between Chhatra League and Shibir around at Shah Amanat Hall on Sunday, leaving Mamun Hossain, general secretary of Shah Amanat Hall Chhatra Shibir unit dead and several Shibir and Chhatra League activists injured.

However, university administration decided to continue regular academic activities though Shah Amanat Hall was vacant after the incident.
