DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, will visit the sectarian violence-torn areas on January 20.

Prime Minister’s media advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhwry and personal secretary Saifuzzaman Shekhar confirmed the matter to banglanews on Monday.

Saifuzzaman Shekhar said Sheikh Hasina would visit Satkhira on January 20.

“Later, she will also visit Abhaynagar in Jessore, Dinajpur and Gaibandha,” he added.

Sources said the Premier is scheduled to meet ill-fated people and pay compensations to the affected ones during the mayhem on the minority communities by BNP-Jamaat activists.
