Air Force training aircraft crashed, 2 pilots eject with parachutes

A training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force (YAK130) crashed into the Karnaphuli River at Chattogram’s Patenga on Thursday (May 9).

The two pilots of the aircraft, however, ejected with the parachute. But one of them is in critical condition.

Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport Director Group Captain Taslim Uddin told that the fighter took off from the airport and crashed in the air at 10:28am then fell into the river Karnaphuli.

Though the two pilots of the aircraft ejected with parachute, they were injured, said Taslim.

Rescue operation in regard is underway, Group Captain Taslim added.
