Battery-run rickshaw and easy bike drivers have blocked roads in the capital's Mirpur area protesting the government ban on their vehicles.

Due to their protest, vehicular movement in Mirpur, 10, 11, 12 remained suspended since 10 am. Huge tailback was created in different areas of Mirpur.

The drivers were seen protesting on the road in Mirpur-11 holding sticks and restricting other vehicles from going ahead. They demanded to run their vehicles without any condition.

Mirpur Model Police Station OC Munshi Sabbir Ahmed said, "Additional police force have been deployed to take the situation under control. We are trying to disperse them from roads."
