Head of Metropolitan Intelligence Police (DB) chief Harun Or Rashid today (May 22) said Bangladeshi criminals are behind the death of Awami League MP Anwarul Azim Anar, lawmaker of Jhenaidah-4.

He was talking to reporters at the DB office on Mintu Road in the capital.

The DB police are currently investigating to find out the possible motives behind this murder, said the DB boss.

He said, “We detained some people in connection to the death of the lawmaker Azim in Bangladesh. We are not disclosing identities for the sake of investigation. Others will also be brought under law.”

The DB chief said, “We are closely working with the Indian police on this issue.”
