Four people, including a woman, were killed by lightning strikes in Langadu upazila of Rangamati on Saturday (June 15) afternoon.

Langadu police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunur Rashid confirmed the matter.

The deceased were identified as Ziaul Haque (50), Obaidullah (30), Bacchu Mia (30). 

Still, the boat driver Akkas Ali (45) missing after the incident. 

The police officials are working to rescue him.

Locals said a bolt of lightning struck a boat on Kaptai Lake, leaving three people dead on the spot. 

Besides, a resident of Atarakchhara union died in another incident of lightning strike.
