A Dhaka court today (July 8), based on an appeal by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), barred Mohammad Enamul Haque, Sylhet Customs, Excise and VAT Commissioner, from leaving the country.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad Jaglul Hossain issued this order.

ACC prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam confirmed the matter. 

He said the court ordered the attachment of Enamul's immovable property on July 4 in the case filed by the ACC on the allegation of acquiring assets outside of known income of about Tk 10 crore.

A case was filed against the customs official under section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2004 for acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk 9,76, 97000 through bribery and corruption.
