The city of Pabna has become agitated in the non-cooperation movement which is demanding resignation of the government under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement.
Amid the turmoil situation in district, it has been alleged that Awami League and Jubo League men have conducted crack down on the protesters in which at least three people were killed and 35 people were injured.
On Sunday (August 4), witnesses alleged that the Awami League and Jubo League procession fired at the students who were stationed at Kheaghat Junction in Pabna.
“During this time, there was a chase and counter-case took place between the protestors and the Awami League men,” said the eyewitnesses.
Following the incident protesters fired car of an Awami League leader, witnesses added.
