RUPGANG, NARAYABGANJ: Two children drowned in a pond at Rupganj upazila under the district Monday morning.

The deceased are Mostakim, 4, son of Joynal Abedin and Sohana, 4, daughter of Shahin Mia of Kaladi area under Rupganj.

Sources said Mostakim and Sohana were playing near a pond and at one stage of playing they drowned in the pond around 11:00pm.

After frantic search family members found them in floating condition and took local hospital where on duty doctor declared them dead.
