FENI: A Jubo Dal leader was killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police at Fazilpur union under Sadar upazila on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Golam Sarwar, 32, son of late Nurul Haque at the same area.

He was accused in several cases, including murder, extortion and snatching.  

District additional police super Saiful Haque said banglanews that RAB and police members went to arrest when Sarwar along with his cohorts gathered in the area.   

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, they opened fire aiming joint forcers. In retaliation, law enforcers also fired back that left Sarwar shot dead.  

The body was sent to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
