DHAKA: The second phase of Biswa Ijtema, the second largest Muslim congregation after the holy Hajj, will begin on Friday on the banks of the Turag River at Tongi after Fazr prayer.  
 
The first phase of Biswa Ijtema took at the same venue on January 24-26.  

Sources said thousands of devotees from home and abroad converged on the bank of Turag to take part in the religious event.

Like in the first phase, the second phase will include delivering boyans (sermons) on the fundamental issues of Tabligh, prayer for the spiritual adoration, exaltation and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
