CHANDPUR: At least 12 passengers were injured in a head-on collision between launch and oil tanker in Mohanpur area of Meghna River of the district on Friday morning.

Sources said that Chandpur-bound MV Sonartori launch collided head-on with an oil tanker MV Samia-2 at around 10:00am in the area, leaving 12 passengers injured.

Later, the injured were rushed to Chandpur Sadar Hospital.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Chandpur Deputy Director Muhammad Mobarak Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
